    Do stop by Kennison Reservoir while you're in this part of Oregon. This lake is so wonderful. A visit to Kennison Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Canteen Spring, and Red Mountain Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by. Take a hike on the Grayback Trail, and obviously Mill Creek flows through this region.
An average amount of rain falls at Kennison Reservoir; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the
 
   other hand is the driest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Kennison Reservoir. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Coffee Pot Trail, and there's whitewater on Umpqua River - South for all you thrill seekers. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is plentiful here in the Coast Ranges. A great nearby hotel is Doubletree Ranch; you can stay the night at Grants Pass/Sunny Valley KOA.

               places here in the Coast Ranges. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Sunny Valley Motel is a nice choice, and there are plenty of people from Grants Pass here. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Coast Ranges. There's so much to do here at Kennison Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Sunny Valley Koa Kampground is a perfect place for that; there are some good whitewater spots on Grave Creek.
Hiking along the South Fork Trail is perfect fun; Oregon Caves National Monument is one of the destinations that are nice to check out close by. During the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Kennison Reservoir. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are typically in the 40's with temperatures at Kennison Reservoir dipping down into the 30's during winter nights.
