This lake is so wonderful. A short trip to A and M Spring is always worthwhile, and close by you come across the Coffeepot Trail which is a great hiking trail. Man, is there loads of enjoyable       things to do in the Blue Mountains. On a wonderful day at Kelsey Reservoir you can take a hike along the South Prong Trail, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Battle Creek Mountain Reservoir is just a very short distance away. Best Western John Day Inn is a perfect spot to get some rest; there is a perfect hiking trail close by called the Black Canyon Trail. Kelsey Reservoir is pretty arid mostly; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. All through the long summer days at Kelsey Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Kelsey Reservoir dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
