Liechti Pond Number One is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and don't leave Kelly Cistern without first going for a hike along the Fifteenmile Creek Trail. While you're here at Kelly Cistern, you could also visit beautiful Liechti Pond Number Two; Memaloose State Park is a nice campground nearby. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place!       The Central Cascade Range is so good! A tour to Kelly Cistern wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Mill Creek Falls, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - The Dalles OR is a great site to spend a night or two. There's nice hiking along the Pen Way Trail, and Cousins Country Inn is a glorious spot to get some rest. If you came for an overnight stay Columbia River Gorge Camping is a good site to camp, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Kelly                  Cistern; Cedar Creek Trail is a pleasant local trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable stuff just keep reading. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. You can run the rapids of White River close to Kelly Cistern; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Cooper Spur is relatively near. And if that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do in the vicinity of Kelly Cistern. A pleasant visit to Indian Hollow is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon, and you could always discover Blackburn Canyon. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Kelly Cistern. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; during the dark hours in the winter at Kelly Cistern temperatures plunge to the 20's.
