     Washington County Fair Grounds is a nice campground nearby, and most likely you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Howard Schmidt Reservoir is just a very short distance away. All through the summer months, highs typically are in the 80's at John Place Reservoir, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are frequently in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at John Place Reservoir temperatures descend  
   to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Red Lion Hillsboro Hotel, and golf can be played at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club Ghost Creek. A great deal of rain falls at John Place Reservoir; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest.

Don't Go all the way to wilsonville for a hotel. if you head in towards portland on the 26, there are plenty of hotels from government camp to welches. Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible....
