For the period of the warm days of summer here at Irish Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Irish Lake tend to be in the 20's. Going for a hike on the Lakeside Trail is always a perfect adventure; get yourself into a kayak and hit McKenzie River - South Fork. And that's not all the things you

Bachelor, and nearby you stumble on the Packsaddle Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Willamette Pass around here, and do have a look at Taylor Lake, it's a wonderful lake. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. out, and if the weather is wonderful, you acquire a good vista of Pillar Peak from Irish Lake. Irish Lake is a relatively wet place commonly with lots of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that
rains the most, and the driest of the months is July. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Irish Lake. If you came to camp Twin Springs Campground is a splendid place to do that, and
glide down the rapids of Horse Creek in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Irish Lake that you need to camp here for a while, East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a great location for that, and there is a good hiking trail close by
called the Twin Peaks Trail. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range.

Winopee Lake
 | Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |

Davis Lake
 | 12 miles away This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.... |

Mt Bachelor continues to offer terrain for all levels and likes, from wide groomers, to natural glades, manicured parks, wide open spaces and peak cornices. Also offered are sled dog rides, lift-accessible tubing and snowshoe tours lead by USFS rangers. At just over 9,000 feet, you can see to Mt Shasta in California up to Mt Adams in Washington State. Mt Bachelor is defined by its setting ? a pristine mountain experience that is as pure as the day the volcano erupted 15,000 years ago. Riders now enjoy 360-degree access to terrain off the Summit and Northwest chairlifts, a five year back catchline program that was just completed August 2008.
