Camping is available at Pelton Park; soar down the rapids of Roaring River in a kayak. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. On a splendid day at Huxley Lake you can take a hike along the Dry Ridge Trail, and there are other places here than Huxley Lake, for example Squaw Lakes. Huxley Lake is a quite wet place regularly with a great deal of precipitation; through December       this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Whispering Woods (Vri) is a great place to spend a night or two, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Fanton Plaza Trail. For the period of the summer highs here at Huxley Lake get into the 70's with night lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime                  at Huxley Lake temperatures fall to the 30's. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things in the Central Cascade Range. It's a magnificent idea to explore South Fork Roaring River, it's right next door to Huxley Lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Clackamas River. Resort at the Mountain is a fine spot to get some rest, and why not head up to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and strap some skis to your feet. A good place to camp here at Huxley Lake is Lookout Springs Campground. Lakes? Sure, Surprise Lake is in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful.
