Elkhorn Valley Golf Course is a golf course close to Howell Pond, and dry warm beds await you at All Season's Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Howell Pond is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Central Cascade Range. Glide down the rapids of Santiam River - North in a kayak, and if you come at the right time of year, Santiam River - Little       North offers some nice whitewater. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Howell Pond, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Howell Pond nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things in the Central Cascade Range. If you're here at Howell Pond, you could                  stop at Anderson Creek; you can go for a hike on the Snow Peak Mill City Trail. A large amount of rain falls at Howell Pond; December is when you get the most rain here while July is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Oak Park Motel & Trailer Park is a brilliant location to spend a night or two, and Santiam State Forest is a wonderful local forest.
