Some of the water nearby flows, like Anderson Creek, and if you're here, you could also pop by stunning Crabtree Lake. Stay the night at Cascade Sports Camp, and Santiam State Forest is a forest that you can go to. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Howell Pond; Snow Peak       Mill City Trail is a wonderful local trail; a fine nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn & Suites. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Santiam River - Little North, and a round of golf at nearby Elkhorn Valley Golf Course is a magnificent way to kill some time. If you adore the outdoors, you'll adore Howell Pond. Good hiking is available along the Crabtree Lake Trail, and do have a look at Butte                  Lake, it's a lovely lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Howell Pond has to offer, you can camp at Taylor Park, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Santiam River - North. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. The Pine Crest Trail offers hiking at its best. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Howell Pond. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Howell Pond temperatures sink to the 30's.
