During the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Howard Prairie Lake. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Howard Prairie Lake. There's so much to do here at Howard Prairie Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Hyatt Lake Campground is a perfect location for that, and Howard Prairie is a splendid site to check out. to spend a night or two. Howard Prairie Lake is a beautiful lake in the Southern Cascade Range. Around Howard Prairie Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most while July is generally the driest month.

 | You have got to be kidding. IV-V+???!!!!!! Has someone really run the falls? You make it sound like a like just any old run. It can only be run at the few times there is enough water and for a large part of the run, barb wire, willow thickets in the channel and recluses with shotguns are the main obstacles. Only the last few miles has whitewater of note and it is challenging. I ran this section in the mid eighties and claim along with my buddies Kent Erskine and Max Linn a first descent.... |

Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts.
