Lots of people from Coos Bay come to Horsfall Lake. Lakes are magnificent; Bluebill Lake is a lake that's right next door to Horsfall Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Horsfall Lake while night lows are frequently in the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 50's while Horsfall Lake night low temperatures during the winter | |

The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful. Horsfall Lake is a wet site that gets a lot of rainfall; during the month of December you get the most rain around here; July is the month with the least moisture.
So many cool things right next door to Horsfall Lake, clearly phenomenal. If you want to hit the beach, North Beach is close at hand, and Kentuck Golf Course is a golf course close by.
You're possibly into lakes, Spirit Lake
is one of those close by; a tremendous nearby hotel is Comfort Inn at Coos Bay. Having a magnificent time in the Coast Ranges is painless. If you're here at Horsfall Lake, you could stop by North Slough; a glorious spot to camp here at Horsfall Lake is Firs Mobile Home and RV Park.

Upper Pony Creek Reservoir
 | Hi Ken--I'm trying to locate a USGS survey marker not too far from the headwaters of Pony Creek. I believe it's on the Libby Road in the NW corner of sec. 9, T 26S R13W. Have you ever seen it? Frank (local historian)....I work for the Coos Bay-North Bend water board and have the unique pleasure to view the Upper Pony Creek Dam, The Reservoir and the surrounding watershed when work there is required. The area is quiet as it is a restricted area and the resident Elk herd is often seen along with a deer or two once and a while. When the weather is nice the lake is a beautiful blue. The trees are in a scheduled harvest cycle and replaced when cut so there is stands of huge trees alongside smaller sized tree patches. all in all it is a pleasure to get to ''work'' in such a beautiful environment and to have the distinct opportunity to live in the area I do. It is possible to view this magnificant area when tours are made available through the Water Board.... |
