Throughout the summer at Horsefly Lake highs are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Horsefly Lake are in the 20's. So many fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range, not enough time. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Betty Lake;       perfect hiking is available along the Maiden Peak Trail. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Woodsman Country Lodge, and you can go for a hike on the Mount Ray Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things near Horsefly Lake. Head up to Willamette Pass and strap some skis to your feet, and one of the major characteristics of the surroundings of Horsefly                  Lake is Mount Ray. If you came to camp Shelter Cove Resort is a delightful location to do that; don't leave Horsefly Lake without first going for a hike along the Crain Prairie Trail. Horsefly Lake is a relatively wet place commonly with a good deal of rain; December is the month that gets the most rain while July is usually the driest month. If you're here at Horsefly Lake, do take a trip to Shadow Bay, and camping at Twin Springs Campground is always a pleasant experience.
