Cummings Hill Summit is a wonderful location to spend some time at, and       Hotel Condon is a great place to get some rest. A good close by hotel is Fossil Motel & Trailer Park; if you come at the right time of year, John Day River offers some splendid whitewater. Black Butte is delightful and can be seen from Hoover Creek Reservoir, and camping at Fossil Motel and Trailer Park is always a great experience.
