A good spot to camp here at Hobnail Reservoir is Fish House Inn, and if you haven’t been to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Hobnail Reservoir get into the       80's while night lows are commonly in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hobnail Reservoir. Not much rainfall falls here at Hobnail Reservoir; throughout the month of November you get the most rain around here, and September is when it's the driest. Holding Pasture is a good place here at Hobnail Reservoir; getting to Basin Creek from Hobnail Reservoir is painless.
