This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. What would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Ashland; you can stay the night at Campers Cove. That right there is lots already, but it keeps on going; Hobart Lake has it all. You can run the rapids of Shasta River next to Hobart Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Lithia Springs Resort And Gardens. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Hobart Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down

| | to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Hobart Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Hobart Lake is pretty dried out frequently; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Bluff, and Keene Creek Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop at. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Bear Creek Trail, and Hobart Lake is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Hyatt Lake Campground
is a nice site to camp nearby. Good hiking is available along the Mount Ashland Trail, and at Hobart Lake you can observe Baldy. If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Southern Cascade Range. Very nice water scenery
is available at Keene Creek Diversion Dam right next door to Hobart Lake, and a great site nearby is Green Springs Summit. Go for a hike on the Bieberstedt Trail; if you're here, you could also stop by picturesque Parsnip Lakes. This
spot, the Southern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors fun things. Get your heart pumping on the tremendous whitewater of Jenny Creek, and if you need a place to stay Windmill Inn And Suites Of Ashland is a splendid choice.

 | You have got to be kidding. IV-V+???!!!!!! Has someone really run the falls? You make it sound like a like just any old run. It can only be run at the few times there is enough water and for a large part of the run, barb wire, willow thickets in the channel and recluses with shotguns are the main obstacles. Only the last few miles has whitewater of note and it is challenging. I ran this section in the mid eighties and claim along with my buddies Kent Erskine and Max Linn a first descent.... |

 | 15 miles away 3 PHOTOS If you can ski Mt. Ashland, you can ski anywhere, is a boast locals in southern Oregon have made for 45 years. It is true; Mt. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.
