All the water falling down from the sky makes High Lake a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is frequently December, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Timber Lake in the vicinity of High Lake, it's a beautiful lake. A wonderful lake like Acme Timber Company Mill Pond close to High Lake is a good site to go to, and Fish Creek Mountain is trouble-free to spot from High Lake.

| | This lake is so wonderful. The snow is great at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, and if you came for an overnight stay Pelton Park is a great place to camp. Be careful coming to the Central Cascade Range, you might not ever want to go back home again. If the weather is delightful here at High Lake, you can go for a hike along the Thunder Mountain Trail; camping is available at Skookum Lake Campground. close to High Lake; whitewater paddling is brilliant on Roaring River. High Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Summer at High Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down
to the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at High Lake temperatures dip to the 30's. That right there is heaps of cool stuff already but it goes on, the
Central Cascade Range has it all. Going for a hike along the Cold Spring Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and a perfect nearby hotel is Whispering Woods (Vri).
