There's so much to do here at Herburger Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Mt Vernon Motel and Trailer Park is a glorious place for that, and delightful hiking is available along the Fawn Spring Trail. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at John Day Golf Club is always a diversion, and you can go for a hike on the High Trail. All through the summer highs here at Herburger Pond get into the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's.
