A lovely lake like Roberts Reservoirs near Helen Lake is a splendid place to stop at; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Deschutes River. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rama Inn. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Helen Lake has to offer, you can camp at Wasco County Fairgrounds. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. You imagine                  that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There are some perfect whitewater spots on White River, and Paquet Gulch is a glorious spot to visit. Through the summertime months highs here at Helen Lake get into the 60's while night lows are frequently in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Helen Lake fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Pen Way Trail is pleasant fun, and Helen Lake is a place with many visitors from City of The Dalles. So many amusing things in the Central Cascade Range, just extraordinary.
