If you need a place to stay Best Western Oak Meadows Inn is a good choice, and if you come at the right time of year, Goble Creek offers some nice whitewater. If you want a fine time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Coast Ranges. Kalama River Inn is a good place to get some rest; while you're       here, you could stop at Alder Creek. These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. Golf can be played at St Helens Golf Course. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Heinen Pond has to offer, you can camp at Scappose Airport County Park. A lot of precipitation falls at Heinen Pond; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful.                  Float down the rapids of Kalama River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Heinen Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Violette's Villa is a fine site for that. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Sherman Reservoir, and at Heinen Pond you always meet someone from Longview-Kelso. So much cool stuff near Heinen Pond, absolutely extraordinary. This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes. Sherman Reservoir Number Two is a lake close by, and a journey to Bonnie Falls will fill your spirit with great feelings. During the warmest time of the year at Heinen Pond highs are frequently in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
