    Go to Head Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the Central Cascade Range. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Hoodoo; you're most likely keen on lakes, First Lake is one of those close by. Head Lake commonly gets lots of precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Head Lake is a  
   beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range.
Be careful coming to Head Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again. Stay the night at Lemiti Campground, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Collawash River. This lake is so wonderful. High temperatures at Head Lake all through the days of summer are in the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter
 
               come with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Head Lake plunge into the 30's.
This lake is so wonderful. Head Lake is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Trout Lake Campground is a splendid location to camp nearby; nearby you find the Fish Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail. Marion Creek is a fine whitewater spot in the vicinity of Head Lake, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Cub Creek Trail. There is a splendid hiking trail near Head Lake called the Pacific Crest Trail - section 22, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Cornpatch Meadow is right nearby.
All year is a pleasant time in the Central Cascade Range if you go for the outdoors. Lakes are splendid; Little Lake is a lake that's right next door to Head Lake, and Olallie Butte is a peak you can spot from Head Lake.
