After a long day outdoors Harrison House Bed and Breakfast is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Alsea River - South Fork; Lower Hult Reservoir is a good lake nearby. For the duration of the summer months at Gygi and Engle Reservoir temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and the night is a little cooler of course, typically       in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Gygi and Engle Reservoir. Lakes? Sure, John Griffith Reservoir is in the neighborhood; Gygi and Engle Reservoir is a good location to visit for more than one day, Big Elk Campground is a good location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. During your spree to Gygi and Engle Reservoir you'll meet some folks from Corvallis for sure, and                  there are some good whitewater spots on Alsea River - North Fork. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. There's some flowing water close by, Banton Creek is a stream you can check out while here. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Gygi and Engle Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Fir Ridge Camp Grounds. Gygi and Engle Reservoir is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rain; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
