Why not stop by Guild Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Guild Lake is a place with many visitors from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, and no need to travel far to have a look at interesting stuff like Mocks Bottom. This lake is so wonderful. Portland Meadows RV Park is a tremendous spot to camp, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Lewis River - East Fork. At Guild Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The
wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Guild Lake are in the 30's. Balch Canyon is a magnificent location to spend some time at, and if you're here you can play some golf at Heron Lakes Golf Course.
Camping is available at Jantzen Beach RV Park; a magnificent close by hotel is Silver Cloud Inn Portland Downtown.

 | 12 miles away Don't Go all the way to wilsonville for a hotel. if you head in towards portland on the 26, there are plenty of hotels from government camp to welches. Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible.... |
Lewis River - East Fork
 | 16 miles away *WARNING* Lewisville Pk to DayBreak on July 2, 2009. Water very low and very rocky using tubes and raft. Had to get out often and dislodge from rocks or walk over river rock. Had to walk from 1/4 sign to Daybreak all the way out and was VERY UNHAPPY. Walk was actually about a mile to parking area over river rock and then very narrow trail. Trails not marked if you have to get out and walk because water was TOO low (only a few inches deep). Would have appreciated uptodate info at booth at Lewisville entrance. Was told rafting was fine to Daybreak. Trip took 5.5 hours and was told it would take 2.5.... |
