John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is a great national park, and not far from Grindstone Reservoir you acquire some fine water scenery at Grindstone Dam. If the weather is nice here at Grindstone Reservoir, you can go for a hike along       the Black Canyon Trail, and hiking along the Owl Creek Trail is glorious fun. It is very dehydrated here at Grindstone Reservoir usually; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and September is the month with the least moisture.
