| | Lake Trail is a magnificent local trail. The slopes of Willamette Pass are so inviting noone can resist, and there's perfect hiking along the Winopee Lake Trail. The high level of rainfall makes Gleneden Lake a rather wet spot; December is the month that gets the most rain while July is mostly the driest month. go whitewater paddling on McKenzie River - South Fork. There's so much to do here at Gleneden Lake that you need to camp here for a while, East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a nice site for that. That right there is lots of exciting
stuff already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Packsaddle Mountain Trail; Horse Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mt. Bachelor
is a good place to do that; needless to say, this is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lady Lake is a lake close by. At Gleneden Lake throughout the summertime highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Gleneden Lake.

Winopee Lake
 | Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |

Davis Lake
 | 12 miles away This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.... |
