Gleneden Lake is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Campground is a splendid local campground; the top of Pillar Peak is easily seen from Gleneden Lake. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Central Cascade Range. You're possibly interested in lakes, Timmy Lake is one of those nearby; hiking is a popular thing to do around Gleneden Lake; Snowshoe       Lake Trail is a magnificent local trail. The slopes of Willamette Pass are so inviting noone can resist, and there's perfect hiking along the Winopee Lake Trail. The high level of rainfall makes Gleneden Lake a rather wet spot; December is the month that gets the most rain while July is mostly the driest month. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always                  go whitewater paddling on McKenzie River - South Fork. There's so much to do here at Gleneden Lake that you need to camp here for a while, East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a nice site for that. That right there is lots of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Packsaddle Mountain Trail; Horse Creek is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mt. Bachelor is a good place to do that; needless to say, this is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lady Lake is a lake close by. At Gleneden Lake throughout the summertime highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's.
