Johnson Meadows is a glorious place, and a lake nearby is Crystal Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the glorious whitewater of Champion Creek; the Grass Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. From Gertrude Lake you get a magnificent view of Grass Mountain, and Slim Chance Campground is a great local campground. Man, is there a load of entertaining stuff to do in the Central Cascade       Range. Gertrude Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Errin Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and Best Western Oakridge Inn is a wonderful location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Rocky Point Way is pleasant fun. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a brilliant time here at Gertrude Lake. Gertrude Lake is right by the Packard Creek Trail; after a long day outdoors Moonstone Village Green Resort is a great location                  to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Gertrude Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is July. You clearly should love the Central Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Brice Creek, and if you get bored of Gertrude Lake you could also visit nearby Windfall Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Gertrude Lake, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, frequently in the 50's.
