This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. Gertrude Lake really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. If you need a site to stay Cascade Motel & Storage is a fine choice, and one of the overriding highlights of the surroundings of Gertrude Lake is Grass Mountain. You clearly have to like the Central Cascade Range. Going for a hike on the Grass Mountain       Trail is always a delightful adventure, and whitewater paddling is great on Champion Creek. Why not camp at Slim Chance Campground if you're here at Gertrude Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Oakridge Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Packard Creek Trail, and do set aside some time for Johnson Meadows since you're here at Gertrude Lake. Man, is there plenty of cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Good hiking is                  available along the Rocky Point Way, and Windfall Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Gertrude Lake gets a good deal of water; November is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Gertrude Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Gertrude Lake drop into the 30's.
