    Frog Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Central Cascade Range rocks!. Very scenic scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Mt. Hood Meadows, and if you're here, you could also go to stunning Twin Lakes.
This site rules, just explore all the exciting stuff to do near Frog Lake. Clear Lake is a nearby
 
   lake that you could visit; a glorious place for whitewater paddling is White River. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Frog Lake, so little time. Whispering Woods (Vri) is a great place to get some rest; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Bonney Meadows Trail. And if that's not enough there's lots more exciting things to do in the Central Cascade Range. A great place to camp here at Frog Lake is Lower Twin Campground, and there are swamps here too,  
               Salmon River Meadows is in close proximity.
This lake is so wonderful. You get a nice view of Bird Butte from Frog Lake; why not camp at Salmon River Campground while you're here at Frog Lake. If the weather is pleasant here at Frog Lake, you can go for a hike along the Umbrella Falls Trail; Hood River - Lake Branch is a glorious whitewater spot close by. Near Frog Lake you come across Blue Box Pass which is a tremendous site to stop at; what would winter be without some skiing at Timberline Lodge.
Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range. While you're here at Frog Lake you will meet lots of folks from close by Hood River; why not take a little tour to Ghost Creek while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Frog Lake you can take a hike along the Driveway Trail; a great close by hotel is Mount Hood Inn. All the water falling down from the sky makes Frog Lake a wet location; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain while July is frequently the driest month.
Throughout the warm days of summer at Frog Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Frog Lake tend to be in the 30's.

Have you been to the Bighorn campground site???While this is a beautiful pack-in, primitive site, it doesn't fit with your description. Before camping, take a hike on Nat. Forest Trail 742, without gear. After you've scoped the area, come back and stay. Even on Labor Day Weekend ('06) there were several campsites available in this dispersed camp area....
