When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Freres Log Ponds. Do check out Lyons Log Pond close to Freres Log Ponds, it's a gorgeous lake, and get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Thomas Creek. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Freres Log Ponds is a nice spot to visit for more than one day, John Neal Memorial County Park is a nice spot to camp nearby, and you can run the rapids of Santiam River - Little North. This lake is so wonderful.
