Near Franzen Reservoir you come across a golf course called Meadowlawn Golf Course, and if you're here, you could also stop at beautiful McDonald Pond. The       yearly rainfall here at Franzen Reservoir is about average; the month with most of the rain is December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Franzen Dam is a beautiful place close to Franzen Reservoir, and camping at Salem Campgrounds and RV's Holiday Trav-L-Park is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of people from Salem here, and Holiday Inn Express Salem (Oregon Capitol), Or is a perfect place                  to get some rest. High temperatures at Franzen Reservoir throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Franzen Reservoir.
