The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mt. Hood Ski Bowl; why not camp at Trout Lake Campground while you're here at Francis Lake. There is a brilliant hiking trail next to Francis Lake called the Blue Lake Camas Prairie Trail, and at Francis Lake you can see Rock Cone. At Francis Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 70's,       and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Francis Lake. Hit the slopes at Hoodoo in close proximity, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Marion Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Francis Lake a wet spot; December is the wettest month with most rain while                  July is regularly the driest month. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is great on Metolius River, and going for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 22 is always a tremendous adventure. If you want a nice time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Francis Lake. Go for a hike on the Jefferson Creek Trail; after a long day outdoors Lodge at Suttle Lake is a glorious place to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Camping at Francis Lake is great fun, Lemiti Campground is a great local campground, and perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes?
