Going for a hike on the Starvation Trail is always a great adventure. Lakes are glorious; Chalk Reservoir is a lake that's in close proximity to Forks Reservoir. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Forks Reservoir. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows at Forks Reservoir throughout the wintertime typically drop into the 0's. You think       that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Some of the water nearby flows, like Skagway Creek, and if you need a site to stay Sag's Motel is a nice choice. There are delightful spots to discover along the Sunshine Flat Trail, and a tremendous site to camp here at Forks Reservoir is Crane Creek Campground. Don't leave Forks Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Little Baldy Trail; camping is available at Fopian Campground. It is very waterless here at Forks                  Reservoir mostly; throughout December this area sees the most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful.
