If you come at the right time of year, Elk River offers some delightful whitewater, and why not camp at Lamglois Koa Kampground if you're here at Floras Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Port Orford Inn; if you came for an overnight stay Cape Blanco is a nice place to camp. This lake is located in the wonderful Coast Ranges. All the water falling down from the sky makes Floras Lake a wet place; all       through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Through the summertime months at Floras Lake highs are regularly in the 60's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Floras Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. This place, the Coast Ranges, has so much outdoors entertaining                  stuff. Sixes Beach is near Floras Lake if you're in a beach type of mood, and don't forget to take a perfect little visit to Boulder Creek. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Floras Lake. The good folks of Brookings like to hang out close by.
