Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Willamette River, and a wonderful nearby hotel is Relax Inn. Camping is available at Primitive Campground; there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Rock Creek Trail. The high level of rain makes Fishbird Lake Reservoir a relatively wet site; through November this area sees the most rain, and July on the other       hand is the driest. If you get bored of Fishbird Lake Reservoir, you could also check out nearby Harris Reservoir, and the wonderful folks of Eugene-Springfield like to hang out nearby. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Row River, and if the weather is beautiful, you get a splendid view of McFarland Butte from Fishbird Lake Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend nearby Hidden Valley Golf Course, and you can take a little                  visit to W A Woodward Lumber Company Log Dam since you're here at Fishbird Lake Reservoir. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area next to Fishbird Lake Reservoir has to offer.
