It's always fun to stop by Emigrant Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Southern Cascade Range. If you adore the outdoors, you'll adore Emigrant Lake. Why not camp at Glenyan Campground Of Ashland while you're here at Emigrant Lake, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Mount Ashland Trail. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Southern Cascade Range. Near Emigrant Lake you discover the Bear Creek Trail which is a glorious

| | hiking trail, and at Emigrant Lake you can see Major Butte. Why not take a look at Emigrant Dam while you're here; enjoy a round of golf at Ashland City Golf Course. Emigrant Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls during December, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Mt. mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jenny Creek; Bounds Reservoir is a tremendous lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. A nice spot in close proximity to Emigrant Lake is Burns Gulch, and a
short journey to Middle Spring is always worthwhile. And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing things to do in the Southern Cascade Range. There is a tremendous hiking trail close to Emigrant Lake called the Copper Trail.
Through the summertime months highs here at Emigrant Lake get into the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's; through the dark hours
in the winter at Emigrant Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. So much exciting stuff to do here at Emigrant Lake, too splendid to be true. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not stop at Corp Reservoirs in the neighborhood of Emigrant
Lake; Shasta River has a nice whitewater paddling spot nearby. Just can't get enough of the Southern Cascade Range. Take a side visit to Barron Creek, and Windmill Inn And Suites Of Ashland is a pleasant location to get some rest.
If you're here at Emigrant Lake, do take a spree to Helms Cove, and US Forestry Department is a great local campground.

Mt. Ashland
 | 3 PHOTOS If you can ski Mt. Ashland, you can ski anywhere, is a boast locals in southern Oregon have made for 45 years. It is true; Mt. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.  | 16 miles away You have got to be kidding. IV-V+???!!!!!! Has someone really run the falls? You make it sound like a like just any old run. It can only be run at the few times there is enough water and for a large part of the run, barb wire, willow thickets in the channel and recluses with shotguns are the main obstacles. Only the last few miles has whitewater of note and it is challenging. I ran this section in the mid eighties and claim along with my buddies Kent Erskine and Max Linn a first descent.... |
