The beauty of Emerald Lake is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the High Camp Trail, and get soaked paddling on Mollala River - South Fork. Emerald Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Cascade Sports Camp is a nice local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mollala River - North Fork.

| | Emerald Lake gets much water; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is the month with the least moisture. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area next to Emerald Lake has to offer. If you need a place to stay Best Western Sandy Inn is a magnificent choice, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Emerald Lake; Pine Crest Trail is a good local trail. Silver Fox RV Park is a good place to camp nearby, and Howard Johnson Gresham is a brilliant spot to get some rest. You clearly must like the Central Cascade Range. Looking for something close to Emerald Lake? Cougar Lake is close
by, and some of the water close by flows, like Cougar Creek. Summer at Emerald Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the nighttime is a little colder of course, regularly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the
highs are mostly in the 40's while Emerald Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. Emerald Lake is not the only place close by, Beeres Pond is a close by lake, and do take a hike on the Baty Silver King Trail.

Pine Crest Trail
 | ... Trail can no longer be reached. A friend and I tried to go there last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs.
