At Elk Lake through the summer highs are in the 70's while night lows are ordinarily in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Elk Lake drop into the 30's. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Santiam River - North,       and it's a glorious idea to stop by Dunlap Creek. Elk Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range. Lakes are great; Twin Lakes is a lake that's near Elk Lake, and do take a hike on the Beachie Trail. Elk Lake is right by the Mother Lode Trail, and if you came to camp B and B Rentals is a great place to do that. The high level of precipitation                  makes Elk Lake a reasonably wet site; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. Here at Elk Lake you can make out Battle Ax, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Twin Lakes Trail. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Central Cascade Range is peerless! Camping at Detroit Lake State Park is always a glorious experience, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Hoodoo while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Breitenbush River, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Dunlap Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
