High temperatures at Elk Lake all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Elk Lake. And if that's not enough there's plenty more entertaining things to do in the Central Cascade Range. This is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes. Hosmer Lake       is a lake nearby, and good hiking is available along the Sunset Lake Trail. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Don't forget to take a perfect little visit to Quinn Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Elk Lake has to offer, you can camp at East Lake Resort and RV Parks. Elk Lake is a rather wet place mostly with a lot of rainfall; most of the rain falls through December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.                  Very wonderful scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Hoodoo. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more cool stuff to do here at Elk Lake. Gotta ski! Mt. Bachelor is a magnificent site to do that, and don't leave Elk Lake without first going for a hike along the Six Lakes Trail. There's so much to do here at Elk Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Upper Campground is a great place for that, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Squaw Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Put some time aside to spend at Elk Lake Springs since you're here at Elk Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Deschutes River offers some nice whitewater. Elk Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Nearby lakes? Sure, Blow Lake is in close proximity to Elk Lake, and on a gorgeous day you obtain a pleasant sight of Elk Mountain from Elk Lake.
