Elf Lake is located in the Central Cascade Range. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Elf Lake. Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Horse Creek, and camping at East Lake Resort and RV Parks is always a great experience. Paddling on Marion Creek is so much fun.
For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Elf Lake. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge

down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Elf Lake drop into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Scott Mountain is delightful and can be spotted from Elf Lake, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Best Western Ponderosa Lodge. And if that's not enough there's a heap more cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Benson Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop
by, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Hand Lake Trail.
Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range. Alder Springs is a tremendous local attraction, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mt. Bachelor. If you need a place to stay Lodge at Suttle Lake is a good choice; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Deer Butte Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent spot to camp here at Elf Lake is Tombstone Prairie Campground; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Benson Trail.
A lake close by is Glaze Lake, and you can hit the slopes at Hoodoo close by. Elf Lake is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally December, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest.

Sparks lake is a picture perfect high montain lake located west of Bend, Oregon. It's near Mt Bachelor on the Cascade Lakes Hiway. Broken Top and South Sister loom high above as the Lava flow created a unique shoreline accessed best by Kayak or Canoe....

Winopee Lake
16 miles away
Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there....

Very remote and pretty lake. Would have been better for us girly girls and older folks if there had been bathroom facilities anywhere nearby....

Mt. Bachelor

...sales.
Mt Bachelor continues to offer terrain for all levels and likes, from wide groomers, to natural glades, manicured parks, wide open spaces and peak cornices. Also offered are sled dog rides, lift-accessible tubing and snowshoe tours lead by USFS rangers. The resort?s annual snowfall averages 370 inches of low-density powder due to its high desert location and altitude. At just over 9,000 feet, you can see to Mt Shasta in California up to Mt Adams in Washington State.
Mt Bachelor is defined by its setting ? a pristine mountain experience that is as pure as the day the volcano erupted 15,000 years ago. Riders now enjoy 360-degree access to terrain off the Summit and Northwest chairlifts, a five year back catchline program that was just completed August 2008. Now you can pick a backside fall line that no other soul will take that day. An additional 980 acres off the Summit opens up expert rolling bowls and an additional 358 acres of wild tree riding is accessible west of the Northwest shoulder. All backside terrain is for the advanced rider.
