Beautiful Eckman Lake has much to offer visitors. Do have a look at Lint Slough Dam while you're here at Eckman Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Eckman Lake has to offer, you can camp at Chinook RV Park. All through the summertime months at Eckman Lake temperatures are frequently in the 60's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's while the cold winter nights at Eckman Lake are in the

After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Inn Waldport is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and on a beautiful day you acquire a good vista of Mount Eckman from Eckman Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Shamrock Lodgettes, and of course Constantine Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth stopping at. here at Eckman Lake. So many cool things near Eckman Lake, definitely phenomenal. You'll find a lovely lake called Lotus Lake near Eckman Lake, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Horse Creek Trail. Stay
the night at Waldport/Newport KOA, and a golf course close by is Crestview Hills Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Spend the day on the beach at Holly Beach while you're here at Eckman Lake, and a spree to close by Alsea Bay
is very relaxing. So many entertaining things to do in the Coast Ranges, not enough time. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Lint Slough Reservoir right next door to Eckman Lake; whitewater paddling is delightful on Alsea River.
Eckman Lake is a beautiful lake in the Coast Ranges. The high level of rainfall makes Eckman Lake a quite wet place; during December this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. If you don't mind getting
wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Drift Creek, and a swamp like Eckman Slough near Eckman Lake has lots of attention-grabbing things to see.

Beverly Beach State Park
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO ...a Head Lighthouse... Amust see! We climbed all the way to the top and looked out over the ocean and what a view. We saw all kinds of wildlife while camping at Beverly Beach State Park: raccoons they came right up to us waiting for us to feed them and a beaver carrying a tree limb gave us a real spook!
It was dark and we were trying to find our one and only flashlight and while digging for it in our car, we heard some weird brushing sounds along the roadway and when we found the light and put it to where the noise was coming from, we saw a huge beaver carrying a tree limb off into the forrest. We were so shocked at how huge he was! He was the size of a small bear. At first I thought it WAS a bear but my husband said ''no, Baby, don't be scared... It's just a beaver and he wont hurt you. ''
The next morning we were making coffee and waiting for it to perk (a very slow way to make coffee) and the chipmunks were throwing pine cones at us from the tree tops and they actually hit me with one. Then they come down from the trees while we were drinking our coffee and gather up a... |
