Lakes are great; Elk Lake is a lake that's near Dunlap Lake. Dunlap Lake really is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. On a pleasant day at Dunlap Lake you can take a hike along the Elk Lake Trail, and Hoodoo is a great local ski area. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the Central Cascade Range. You can run the rapids of Santiam River - North in the vicinity of Dunlap       Lake, and from Dunlap Lake you obtain a magnificent panorama of Deadhorse Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Mother Lode Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and swamps like Alder Swamp are fun to take a look at. Dunlap Lake mostly gets a large amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is July. Summer brings highs in the 70's                  to Dunlap Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Dunlap Lake. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Central Cascade Range. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Twin Lakes, and Dunlap Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Detroit Lake State Park is a great spot to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. B and B Rentals is a good campground nearby. Dunlap Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range.
