     The beauty of Dry Gulch Reservoir attracts many people from all around. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Mountains. This place, the Blue Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things. Take a hike on the Coffeepot Trail, and after a long day outdoors Best Western John Day Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. At Dry Gulch Reservoir you don’t see much rain; November is the month that gets the most rain while September is the month with the least  
   amount of precipitation.
So much amusing stuff to do in the Blue Mountains, not enough time. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Lakes? Sure, South Wind Creek Reservoir is in the vicinity, and Dry Gulch Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, Fish House Inn is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Crowbar Spring is always fun to check out, and the South Prong Trail offers hiking at its best.
Why
 
               not take a refreshing hike along the Black Canyon Trail, and not far from Dry Gulch Reservoir you'll locate Squaw Creek Reservoir which is a wonderful lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Dry Gulch Reservoir. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Dry Gulch Reservoir temperatures dip to the 10's. If you came to camp Pine Tree Campground is a perfect site to do that, and a tour to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is worthwhile.
