You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Southern Cascade Range. Deer Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the snow falls during December; July on the other hand is the driest. That right there is loads of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Southern Cascade Range has it all. You get a splendid sight of Imagination Peak from Deer Lake, and going for a hike on the Cold       Spring Trail is always a magnificent adventure. At Deer Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 60's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows through the wintertime for Deer Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lithia Springs Resort And Gardens is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Deer Lake without                  first going for a hike along the Wickiup Trail. Lake Notasha is a nearby lake that you could stop by; why not camp at Hemlock Lake Campground if you're here at Deer Lake. Don't miss out on a visit to Crater Lake National Park since you're here at Deer Lake, and Saddle Campground is a brilliant local campground. Man, is there loads of exciting stuff to do right next door to Deer Lake. Go for a hike on the Red Lake Trail; if you get bored of Deer Lake you could also stop at close by Lake Florence.
