Why not camp at Crane Creek Campground while you're here at Dead Horse Reservoir; the Starvation Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. There is a fine hiking trail in close proximity to Dead Horse Reservoir called the Sunshine Flat Trail; do stop at Chalk Reservoir, it's a gorgeous lake. If you came for an overnight stay Fopian Campground is a wonderful location to camp, and one of the main       features of the surroundings of Dead Horse Reservoir is Bingham Point. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Take a little spree to Skagway Creek while you're here at Dead Horse Reservoir, and Sag's Motel is a great spot to get some rest. Dead Horse Reservoir is a location that is reasonably dried out mostly; December is the wettest month with most snow while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Through the warmest time of the year                  at Dead Horse Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 30's. Highs all through the wintertime are mostly in the 30's, and night lows at Dead Horse Reservoir during the wintertime commonly sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
