    Go to Dead End Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. Dead End Reservoir is one of the lakes here in the Blue Mountains. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Blue Mountains. Going for a hike on the South Prong Trail is always a good adventure, and a visit to Dead End Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Hat Spring. It is very dry here at Dead End Reservoir typically; of all the months in a year November is the one with the  
   most rain while September is ordinarily the driest month.
Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things close to Dead End Reservoir. All our national parks are brilliant places to stop at, and John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is no exception. Near Dead End Reservoir you hit upon the Black Canyon Trail which is a great hiking trail; while you're here, you could also pop by pretty Blue Jay Reservoir. There are great sites to discover along the Coffeepot
 
               Trail; camping at Fish House Inn is always a pleasant experience.
At Dead End Reservoir during the warm months highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Dead End Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Pine Tree Campground is a great spot to do that, and do stop at Beaverdam Reservoir, it's a picturesque lake.
