User input for Davis Lake, Central Cascade Range, Deschutes County, Oregon:
John Raanes: This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.

A visit to Davis Lake is always a good idea. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. There's so much to do here at Davis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, North Wickiup Campground is a wonderful location for that, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Twin Peaks Trail. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Dry warm beds await you at Woodsman Country Lodge, and if

| | you came to camp Round Swamp Campground is a good spot to do that. These mountains rock, just check out all the cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Crescent Motel is a glorious choice, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Crater Butte Trail. Through the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Davis Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. High temperatures | |

through the winter are normally in the 40's, and night lows at Davis Lake during the wintertime generally plunge into the 20's. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Willamette Pass while you're here, and get
soaked paddling on Deschutes River. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Going for a hike along the Moore Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and do stop by Moore Creek if you're here
at Davis Lake. Davis Lake gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is when it's the driest.
