Dans Lake is a rather wet place commonly with a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month is July. Dans Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. A great place for whitewater paddling right next door to Dans Lake is McKenzie River - South Fork; Dans Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Shelter Cove Resort is a pleasant local campground.       Throughout the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Dans Lake. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows at Dans Lake through the wintertime usually descend into the 20's. There's so much to do here at Dans Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Twin Springs Campground is a great place for that, and do have a look at Brittany Lake, it's a stunning                  lake. This site is peerless, just check out all the fun stuff to do right next door to Dans Lake. There's nice hiking along the Winchester Trail; a perfect panorama of pretty Rigdon Butte is available. All the outdoors fun things in the Central Cascade Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. After a long day outdoors Sleepy Hollow Motel is a good place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Willamette Pass is just what you need, and the Twin Peaks Trail offers hiking at its best. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range.
