    It's always fun to stop by Craig Lake. Suttle Lake Resort and Marina is a glorious local campground; if you've had enough of Craig Lake, Lower Berley Lake is nearby. Man, is there loads of enjoyable stuff to do next to Craig Lake. Best Western Ponderosa Lodge is a brilliant location to get some rest, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the South Loop Trail. Craig Lake is a relatively wet place typically with much rain; of all the months in a year  
   December is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. Craig Lake is a pleasant site to visit for more than one day, Cold Springs Resort is a pleasant site to camp nearby, and Hogg Rock is stunning and can be seen from here. All year is a nice time in the Central Cascade Range if you adore the outdoors. Take a little tour to Hoodoo Creek since you're here at Craig Lake;
 
               there are splendid sites to explore along the South Loop Cut Off.
So much cool stuff to do here in the Central Cascade Range, too great to be true. You can run the rapids of Marion Creek near Craig Lake, and a day on the slopes of Hoodoo is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. Santiam River - North is a delightful whitewater spot near Craig Lake, and going for a hike on the Thirsty Camp Trail is always a splendid adventure.
Summer at Craig Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Craig Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Lodge at Suttle Lake is a good choice, and you're probably addicted to lakes, Upper Berley Lake is one of those close by.
