This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Cougar Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Skiing at Hoodoo is one of those things you just ought to do; the Crescent Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Tombstone Prairie Campground if you're here at Cougar Lake; why not take a refreshing hike along the Browder Ridge       Trail. The peak of Crescent Mountain can be observed from Cougar Lake; get your heart pumping on the pleasant whitewater of Santiam River - Middle. A good deal of precipitation falls at Cougar Lake; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July.
