The beauty of Copper Lake attracts many people from all around. Copper Lake gets much water; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. So much entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range, just remarkable. Copper Lake is not the only site nearby, Butte Lake is a nearby lake. There's so much to do here at Copper Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Dakota is a great place for that. At Copper Lake

| | throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. During the winter highs are regularly in the 40's; night lows in the 30's for Copper Lake. Gawley Basin is a great spot to stretch your legs a bit; hiking along the Pine Crest Trail is delightful fun. This place, Copper Lake, it completely has so much outdoors fun stuff. at Copper Lake, and a fine site for whitewater paddling is Santiam River - Little North. If the weather is tremendous here at Copper Lake, you can go for a hike along the High Camp Trail, and you can run the rapids of Mollala River
- South Fork. But wait, there's more to do near Copper Lake. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. Enjoy a round of golf at Elkhorn Valley Golf Course not far from Copper Lake; let's not forget
Fibre Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while here. This lake is so wonderful. A short tour to Mud Springs is always worthwhile, and the summit of Dog Rock can be spotted from Copper Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
Going for a hike along the Baty Silver King Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and you can stay the night at Cascade Sports Camp. If you get bored of Copper Lake, you could also have a look at close by
Rhody Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sandy Inn. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range.

Pine Crest Trail
 | ... I tried to go there last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found tha... |
