All the water falling down from the sky makes Colt Lake a wet place; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Upper Campground is a tremendous location to camp; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Horse Creek. All year is a great time in the Central Cascade Range       if you fancy the outdoors. Why not camp at East Lake Resort and RV Parks since you're here at Colt Lake. Lakes are great; Sunset Lake is a lake that's close to Colt Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Hoodoo has glorious slopes and a friendly staff; hiking along the Horse Lake Trail is tremendous fun. Really great skiing awaits you at Mt. Bachelor, and Island Meadow is a pleasant place to stretch your legs a bit. This lake is so wonderful.                  Take a hike on the Island Meadow Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Central Cascade Range. The panorama of Red Hill from Colt Lake is stunning, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Horse Mountain Trail. There's whitewater on Squaw Creek for all you adrenaline people, and not far from Colt Lake you'll come across Horse Lake which is a lovely lake. Summertime at Colt Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the 30's; nighttime lows at Colt Lake through the wintertime typically dip into the 20's.
