This lake is so wonderful. Pennoyer Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth stopping at, and Westport Motel is a good site to get some rest. The high level of rain makes Cochran Pond a quite wet spot; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain while August is generally the driest month. You can run the rapids of Wilson River - South Fork right next door to Cochran Pond, and Cochran Pond       is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Big Eddy County Park is a tremendous local campground. For the duration of the summer months, highs regularly are in the 60's at Cochran Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 50's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Cochran Pond temperatures dip to the 30's. Cochran Pond is located in the Coast Ranges. Man, is there loads of                  enjoyable stuff to do in the Coast Ranges. There's whitewater on Wilson River - Devil's Lake Fork for all you adrenaline people.
