And if that's not enough there's plenty more enjoyable things to do in the Blue Mountains. Not far from Clark Lake you get some great water scenery at Clark Lake Dam; camping is available at Lazy Wolf Resort. A lake close by is Reservoir Number One, and Camp Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. Summertime highs at Clark Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the       40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Clark Lake temperatures drop to the 20's. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Clark Lake has it all. The vistas at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind. Clark Lake is mostly a relatively dried out place; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one that rains the most, and                  July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Indian Mountain can be seen from Clark Lake; if you come at the right time of year, John Day River offers some great whitewater. Hubbel Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by; a great spot to camp here at Clark Lake is Fossil Motel and Trailer Park.
