Cottonwood Buttes is uncomplicated to spot from China Lake, and going       for a hike along the Rock Creek Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Blue Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. You could also take a look at Hanby Reservoir if you're here at China Lake; it's nearby, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Twin Lakes Trail.
